Dentures (Full and Partial)

You might be interested in dentures if you are missing multiple teeth. Many people’s image of dentures is typically gathered from old TV shows and movies. In reality, dentures have come a long way and could be an effective treatment option for your needs.

Caring Dental has tremendous experience dealing with various oral health products. Our team would be happy to work with you closely to take care of all of your dental needs. So, learn more about dentures below, and contact us to schedule an appointment with our office.

Comparing Full and Partial Dentures

There are two different types of dentures. The first is full dentures. If you are missing an entire row of teeth, then this is the option that is probably best for you. We can fashion dentures for either the lower jaw or the upper jaw. We have a variety of materials available, and we will ensure that your dentures are held in place firmly.

On the other hand, if you still have multiple teeth on either the upper or lower jaw, we may recommend a partial set instead. A partial set is usually held in place using wires and brackets instead of glue and suction. You may also want to explore a dental implant or a dental bridge as well. We will explain all of your options to you before we move forward.

Taking Out Dentures

The overwhelming majority of dentures are removable. Regardless of whether you have a full or partial set, you should be able to take them out at will. On the other hand, there are other options available as well. For example, you might be interested in a fixed set or a set that is supported using implants. Remember that once the implants are in, they cannot be removed. At Caring Dental, we are here to find the best treatment option to meet your needs.

Taking Care of Dentures

You also need to ensure that you take good care of your dentures. As long as you do, they should last for many years. Similar to your natural teeth, you need to clean your dentures regularly.

For example, you do not want to transfer plaque and tartar from your dentures to your mouth. You also need to make sure that the dentures do not stain. It would be our pleasure to work with you to ensure you understand how to take care of them. You need to brush your dentures every day using a toothbrush, and you need to use a cleaning product that has been specifically designed for them. That way, you don’t have to worry about them cracking or making you sick.
