Extractions

At Caring Dental, we want to do everything we can to take care of your teeth. Your natural teeth are beautiful, and we want to protect and repair them as much as possible. Unfortunately, there are some situations where the native teeth might not be saved. Or, there may be some situations where the baby teeth might be ready to come out.

Regardless, we will use the latest techniques at our disposal to safely extract a tooth. We also offer sedation dentistry to make you more comfortable. Learn more about the process of dental extractions below, and reach out to us today to make an appointment in our Baltimore, MD office.

We Will Try To Save the Native Teeth

First, understand that we will do everything in our power to try to save native teeth. For example, we will try to place a filling to correct a cavity. Furthermore, if your tooth has been chipped or cracked, we will not automatically remove it. We will try to fix the chip or crack using bonding, veneers, and other options.

In addition, there are even situations where someone may have the tooth knocked out of their mouth. Then, we may try to put it back in. If we feel like we cannot save the native tooth, we will talk with you about other options. Often, this involves a dental extraction to remove the tooth and start the healing process.

The Process of Teeth Extractions

There are several situations where we may use a tooth extraction. A few examples include:

  • If your teeth are overcrowded, we may need to remove some of your teeth to make more room for the others.
  • If you have a baby tooth that is clearly ready to come out, we may perform a tooth extraction to get it out more quickly.
  • If you have severe oral tooth decay, we may not be able to fill and save the tooth. Therefore, we may decide to remove the tooth before the infection can spread elsewhere.

There are plenty of reasons why someone might require a dental extraction, but this is not something you should go through on your own. Instead, rely on our team to help you. We have the training and experience necessary to remove native teeth properly on the first attempt, and we will do everything we can to save the tooth. If you are ready to learn more about your treatment options, we can help you.

Count on Caring Dental To Help You With Extractions

At Caring Dental, we will work with you closely to do everything we can to save your native teeth. If we believe that it is not possible to save native teeth, we may recommend a dental extraction. Even though these extractions proceed relatively quickly, we will explain the risks and benefits of the procedure to you before we get started. This will make it easier for you to decide what is best for your oral health.
